It was really easy to put together and is very sturdy, it really doesn't look like it arrived flat packed, thankfully. There's loads of space and L's room is just beautiful now. However, I have ear marked a few more girly bits and pieces, especially for when we move to a bed, that will complete the perfect little girl haven of fairy magic :-)

The Pretty Book Case
After quite a bit of hassle and waiting our beautiful dolls house bookcase arrived, and I have to say, it was worth the wait!

The door appears!
It seems we did wish hard enough as L's very own fairy door appeared over night. It appeared just above her toy press, beside her books and its magical sparkle caught her eye this morning. It created much excitement. A door, just appearing in the wall, how could it not?
I mentioned that it must be a Fairy Door, L agreed and straight away decided there must be a connection to her jewellery box and the fairy inside who minds her slides and clips. We spent a lot of time examining the fairy in the box and showing her the door. We have decided that it must be her friends popping in to say hello.
Before bedtime L decided she would draw some pictures for the fairy in case she returned tonight. A huge amount of time and effort went into these pictures. We also made a little fairy box. Everything was carefully placed in front of the fairy door so they would be seen be whoever might pop in.
I really hope they like the drawings :-)

Autumn - night night trees
Myself and L were taking a walk the other day. We were walking through some trees and the ground was covered in leaves, all in beautiful colours. I was admiring them and we were looking at the colours, so I started to explain autumn to L. I was aiming for an explanation a tiny girl could understand, so I told her that the trees go to sleep for the winter, so they loose their leaves and grow new ones in the spring. She considered this for a few minutes, then looked up and said 'night, night trees'.
As if that wasn't cute enough, she then turned to me, all concerned, and said 'bottle, book?' How could the trees get to sleep without a bottle and a book? In order to help I started reciting her bedtime story, Good Night Moon, but I was very quickly told 'No, no Mammy, tree book', obviously trees need a bedtime story about trees!

A Fairy door
I believe if you wish hard enough it is possible to create a fairy door so they can come visit you, it might look something like this.
As explained by the lovely people at pirates and pixies the door only opens in, so only tiny faeries, elves and the like can use it.
I have heard there is a shortage of bottles among fairy babies, so I suspect any little visitors may request one to take home. I'm sure any little girls good enough to give the fairy a bottle will be rewarded with something very magical!

Pretty Girly Things
L is a real little girl and into all things girlie. I have given up on my anti doll, no pink stuff stance and now embrace her love of all things pretty.
I have also started looking for some pretty stuff for her room, which is undergoing a bit of a clear out at the moment.
As part of the clear out, I wanted to get a book case. How perfect is this one for any little girls books?
It is from the Great Little Trading Company and I just can't wait for it to arrive. I'll let you see in in place just as soon as it is ready!
This weekend we had a trip to Hamleys and to add to the pretty theme we picked up this beautiful jewellery box.
Isn't it gorgeous? We spent quite a while arranging all of her slides, clips, necklaces, bracelets and other small girl essentials, while listening to the music and watching the fairy twirl around.
While we were in Hamleys L had her nails painted for the first time, pink with tiny flowers. Well, she had three nails painted. She was so delighted with herself.
I'm sure in no time at all the neutral theme I spent so long on before L was born will be completely replaced by pretty pinkness, I have my eye out for some bunting as our next addition :-)

L's sunflower
I love that L's first attempt at gardening has resulted in a beautiful sunflower peeping in our kitchen window :-)
